Ovine dodecapeptide from sheep myeloid cells is 12 amino acids long, including four arginine residues, two cysteine residues, and 6 hydrophobic residues. Ovine dodecapeptide has four conserved hydrophobic residue-substitutions compared to bovine dodecapeptide, including one phenylalanine in the ring. Ovine dodecapeptide and bovine docapeptides are the smallest known cationic antimicrybial peptides. The cysteine residuts, close to either end form a disulphide bond to make a loop. Cyclic dodecapeptide has Antibacterial activity.

| About TFA salt: | Trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) is a strong acid, which is commonly used to cleave synthesized peptides from solid-phase resins and is also used to improve HPLC performance in the peptide purification step.
